That is what it took to get the job done from the customer’s point of view: one phone call. What actually happened was this: Our technicians removed the old opinions and took critical measurements of the mating gears. We then brought the pinions and shafts back to our shop in Slidell. These were reverse engineered and drawings were made of the gears. We then manufactured these large pinions in our facility, along with new shafts.
Our experience and technical capabilities allow us to manufacture loose gearing, so when these pinions were worn out, we used them as a reference to produce brand new replacements. We now have all the necessary details to repeat this process for our customer without the need to reverse engineer the parts, so when required, we will just need another phone call to provide the solution.
